First Lucas (hubby) gets it and he is in ICU for 3 days. Lucas is a post dual ( kidney & liver) transplant warrior 😉, which means colds for him can quickly turn bad fast. They kept him in ICU because his immune system was so low but a few days of rest , IV fluids and his levels moved back into his normal range.
Well he was only home for a day before Roarkeums started with the low grade fever. After a full day of fever we take him to the ER, where Dr says his chest x-ray shows he has pneumonia. They give me antibiotics for him and tell us to follow up with his Dr.
Fast forward to Roarke's follow up Dr visit, where his Dr reviewed the chest x-ray. His chest x-ray was clear no shadow of pneumonia, but we have to finish the antibiotics. This made me so mad because Roarke didn't need antibiotics for a viral infection but I was happy Roarke's Dr is not a fan of over prescribing antibiotics. Lucas and Roarke are both feeling better but it has been a wild eye opening few weeks.
The eye opening is the lack of family (blood or love) support we have here on the coast. I was lucky I was schedule for mid shifts and have a caring boss , who let me use vacation time to stay home with Roarke while Lucas was in the ICU. I have meet people here , I even have some I can call for a ride to the ER. We don't have anyone we have known long enough to leave Roarke with , so while Lucas was in the hospital we couldn't visit. Super bummer!
While Lucas was in the hospital I did get a lot of crafting done. During my crafting time I realized how much I long to be near family and make a living from my crafts while being a stay at home Mom.
So that is where I am at right now. Trying to come up with a great plan to make this dream a now reality! Lucas and I have been working on a plan and we will reveal it on May 1st during Beltane.
I can tell you now the plan is .........Taking a creative leap to spread love and light!
