Hello my Crafties,
I am so happy to be alive. All of this end of the world talk has had me rethinking my life.
I am paying it forward from this day forth. I am living for me and truly understanding that it is not a selfish act. If I take care of me then I can take care of all aspects of my life.
This is my journey right now to elevate my Mind, Body and Spirit! I am so blessed to have a loving supportive husband. Dec 21st is our anniversary and the world did end for us yesterday. The world that we perceived ended yesterday to be exact. The new world came into reality when we let go. We vowed to focus more on each other and our sons. Enjoying each and every experience we have with them and each other. When you take the time to smell the roses the world is brighter. Sometimes the roller coaster of life can send you through a series of loop to loops, but you just got to breath through the scary parts and remember to enjoy the ride. We had been holding on so tight and trying to plan every reaction to these loop to loops that we forgot to enjoy the ride.
I originally started this blog to blog about my journey to bring my love of art to the forefront of my life but with the dawning of a new day I understand the direction this blog will go.
Crafty Owl Mama will blog about how creating everyday makes me feel complete. My life is my living canvas and I would like to share it with you. Each day I will share with you how I create every day. Someone asked me" Aurora do you want to be the Actor or the Director of the play which is your life?" I immediately said Director but in hindsight I see I was the actor.
To pay it forward I must direct. So each day I will also show you how I directed creativity in my life. Also in this new dawn I realize that I am not directing or creating alone. My wonderful husband is on the act as well as it is being guided and protecting by the Original Crafters, Mr & Mrs. God! This new realization that I am not alone on this journey gives me a big sigh of relief and room to create from my heart.
As I sit here nursing my son Roarke with my husband Lucas curled up next to us sleeping and say "Thank You for all my blessing!"
Stay tune tomorrow I will share joys of making mermaid soap for great holiday gifts.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to always walk in love and light!
Stay Crafty!

Rainy Thursday brings forth the Stone Owl Guardians.
It's a rainy Thursday morning.......filled with potential. Normally some would say it's gloomy but when you live on the Oregon coast you have a lot of rainy Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and more.
I was California born and raised but after 5 yrs on the Oregon coast I have learn to embrace the rainy days. I would be lying if I said I loved it , but my love to create on these days has help so much.
Today, I am working on Stone Owls which is a project from my online class with #alisakburke. This project was from day two and we are on day 18 but the few that I previously did found homes before I could snap a photo of them. I love these little guys because each feels like cheating. I just follow the stone and the owls come alive in my hand. I love owls and their regal aura they give off, but I wouldn't say I have master drawing their form yet. When you look at each one I have captures different species of the owl family. I love the way this project is speaking to me. My stone Owls are now my guardian Owls. Okay the California hippy is coming out, but seriously I hear these guardians come to life ready to share their love and light to the lucky recipient. I will be their happy channel giving birth to them with my heart and hands.
Thank you Alisa these guys are here to stay and will be apart of the Crafty Owl Mama's creations.
So yes, I will be walking to work in an hour but you know I will be searching for more stones to join my owl guardian family. My biggest supporter (Lucas my husband) say he loves Mexirican ingenuity because it saves on holiday gifts. I have to remind him it's creativity, if not he calls all my crafty endeavors Mexirican ingenuity. I will post pictures tonight when I get off and they have finish drying.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to always walk in love and light my crafties.
Stay crafty!

Welcome to the crafty me!
Hi my crafties,
I am Crafty Owl Mama and I love to create. Thank you for joining me in my artistic birth. Yes I was born Halloween 40 yrs ago but this isn't a rebirth journey, it is a birth to the world of my crafty side. This is usually a private side for only friends and family but they all keep saying I need to share with others, so here I am sharing.
I will give you some back story of my self, so you can have a clue of what you may encounter here.
I am a Mexirican wife to Lucas, mother of Jordan & Roarke , who loves to cook! I love belly dancing ( Hemalayaa Behl is my inspiration ) , yoga, Zumba, crystals, holistic healing, aromatherapy, all percussion, music, painting, mix media, fiber art, coastal living, up-cycling, hand made bath & body products ( especially the ones I make) , writing, poetry, growing my own veggies and making my family laugh. I love bright colors especially vibrant pastels, mermaids, faeries, all the whimsical creatures you could think of.
I was adopted at birth and found out after I got out of high school. My culture is very important to me so Hispanic artwork ( Frieda Kahlo is my favorite ) is big in my world.
Halloween is my favorite holiday and yes I really get in to it. Halloween decoration will adorn my home from mid-september to after the first week of November. Also embracing my cultures celebration of Dia de Los muertos my festivities last a long time.
I am a breast feeding, cloth diapering, co-sleeping Mama to a smiley 6 month old boy. I am raising a bi-racial family married to a wonderful Caucasian man.
Hope you check in to hear about the Crafty Owl Mama escapades!
( I made this out of an old dry erase board for Roarke's baby room. It has had some transformation since this picture so I will add the last version soon! I love Owls if you haven't guessed yet =})
